So far, there has been no research on mysticism in the mantra Kidung Rumeksa ing Wengi (hereafter called KRW). The main point of view of this study was Javanese mysticism. KRW, as the main data, is a set of mantra texts (words, phrases, and sentences) with a total of 43 stanzas Hermeneutic techniques were applied to analyze guidelines. The results showed that KRW reflects implications about the evolution of Javanese culture from oral tradition to written documentation, strategically incorporating Islamic concepts. Sunan Kalijaga (the author) boldly docu-mented KRW in writing, combining Islam with Javanese culture while maintaining its authenticity. Intertextuality in KRW shows integration between old traditions and new Islamic teachings, facilitating acceptance among Javanese society. KRW facilitates integration in complex cultures. This research was expected to give important implications that, oral literature, especially mantras, is one of the means that can be used as a medium of mysticism, and education.

Investigations on kidungan, a form of traditional Javanese poetry, have been gaining momentum. However, there is a lack of comprehensive reports exploring the value of Javanese cultural wisdom in relation to social dimensions, symbolic politics, and educational values as reflected in kidungan. This study aims to address this gap by delving into the social dimension, symbolic politics, and educational value embedded in traditional Javanese poetry, specifically in kidungan ludruk. The research data for this study is sourced from ludruk performances broadcasted by Radi Republik Indonesia (RRI) East Java and expert interviews. The data collected were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques, employing an ethnolinguistic research approach. The findings of this study revealed that ludruk kidungan serves as a social representation of traditional society, encompassing various aspects of social dimensions, symbolic politics, and educational values. An important implication of this study is that kidungan has the potential to contribute to the development of sustainable knowledge, particularly in the fields of culture, politics, and education.

So far, the study of magical realism in literature has been limited to the relationship of literature to the chronology of text creation. There have been no studies linking the imagination of magical realism and the reader effect, especially the content of educational values. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the values of education in the literature of magical realism. This research uses semiotic methods, content analysis, and hermeneutics. The primary data source is Danarto Asmaraloka’s novel. The results showed that Asmaraloka is a literature that creates a complex world. It represents reality and fantasy that rejects simple and exclusive binary and postmodernist views. The magical realism in Asmaraloka encompasses certain cultural traditions and universal aspects. At the same time, Asmaraloka provides educational values about freedom. An important im-plication of this research is that literature can be a medium of expression that simultaneously guides readers about freedom.
